Essere comune per diventare Unico
Era una delle tante email di artisti che proponevano
di esporre le loro opere nella mia galleria.
Guardai come sempre le foto, ma questa volta rimasi
molto colpita dalla forza che emanavano le immagini. Non contattai l’artista, anzi lasciai che il
tempo passasse, fino a che dopo aver visto la reazione delle persone alle quali
mostravo le foto, mi decisi a chiamarlo.
Contattare Jorit AGOch significa entrare nel suo
mondo, significa seguirlo nei suoi viaggi. Fin
dall’adolescenza inizia a viaggiare. L’
Africa è il luogo dove ritornerà più
volte e dal quale trae il desiderio di approfondire la ricerca sul volto umano. Intuisce che le differenze di razza,
di sesso, di religione e classe sociale
sono infinitamente meno significative rispetto alle caratteriste morfologiche
che accomunano gli esseri umani. Tutti i successivi viaggi in Australia, Cuba, Paesi Arabi non fanno altro che
radicare in lui la consapevolezza che i
tratti somatici rivelano la comunione profonda esistente tra gli
individui.
E’ proprio questa ricerca che identifica i lavori di
Jorit, entrare nei volti alla scoperta del loro valore intrinseco, cercare il
segno comune che unisce gli Uomini ha qualcosa di religioso, di spirituale,
qualcosa che va oltre Il normale concetto di estetica.
L’hUman Tribe è proprio una ricerca Etica caratterizzata dai segni che
Jorit imprime sui visi. Le due righe
rosse marcate sulle guance del volto sono prese da antichi riti di iniziazione
praticati da tribù africane, ma che oggi, in una società così trasformata, servono più di un tempo a significare
quanto l’essere umano ha la necessità di appartenere ad una comunità che non lo
faccia sentire isolato, staccato, solo.
Cosa può essere più agglomerante che la razza alla
quale esso appartiene: la Razza Umana.
L’ hUman Tribe, già l’impatto visivo del titolo evoca
un simbolo.
Attraverso l’essere comune che l’umanità
assurge a divenire Umanità, solo riconoscendo di essere comuni ad altri
che l’Essere Comune diventa Unico.
E’ per questo che ci piace Jorit, perché ci parla di
concetti GRANDI, come grandi sono i suoi ritratti e immagini che siano frutto di un uomo adulto, massiccio, magistrale,
gigantesco, invece quando lo incontri
scopri un ragazzo giovanissimo con la faccia pulita, sicuro che ciò che vuole è
conoscere i suoi simili attraverso la
curiosità, lo studio e la ricerca.

To be common to become Unique
It was one of the many mails of the artists who
want to show their works in my gallery. I looked at the photos as I used to do,
but this time I was very surprised by the strength that came out of them. I
didn’t get in touch with the artist and let the time go by until I saw the
reaction of people whom I showed his works to, therefore I decided to call him.
Getting in touch with Jorit AGOch means entering his world, it means to follow
him within his travels.
He started travelling since adolescence. Africa
is the place where he came back many times and where he got the desire to study
in depth the human face. He perceives by intuition that differences about race,
sex, social classes and religions have less significance in front of the
morphological traits. The successive travels to Australia, Cuba and the Emirates
strengthen his awareness that faces reveal the deep common between people.
It’s exactly this research that distinguishes
Jorit’s works; going into the faces to discover the real value looking for the
common sign which connects people has something religious, spiritual, something
that gets over the normal aesthetic concept.
Human Tribe is exactly an ethical research,
characterized by the signs impressed from Jorit on the faces. The two red lines
impressed on the cheeks are taken from the ancient initiation rituals of
African tribes, that today, in our Society, need more than one time to signify
how much the human being needs to belong to a community which wouldn’t leave
him alone.
What is more binding than the race we belong
to, the Human Race?
The hUman Tribe is just a symbol-
Being an ordinary person, humanity becomes
Humanity. Only recognizing being like the others Ordinary people become Unique.
For this reason we like Jorit, because he talks
about BIG concepts, because big are his portraits and we believe that they are
the work of a strong, huge, man ; whereas, when you get in touch with him, you
see a very young boy with a clear face but it’s sure that his aim is to know
the others through curiosity, research and study.
